As in previous years, Exposome Austria was represented by Prof. Benedikt Warth and Jan Stiglitz, who actively contributed through the Poster Session, showcasing Austria’s central contact point for questions related to the human exposome and environmental assessment.
This year’s symposium stood out for its exceptionally high-level participation at both national and European levels. Austrian Federal Ministers Eva-Maria Holzleitner (BMFWF) and Peter Hanke (BMIMI), together with Barbara Weitgruber, Director General for Scientific Research, opened the event. The European dimension was underscored by the presence of EU Commissioner for Research & Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva, whose keynote speech highlighted the ambition of the upcoming ERA Act to establish Europe’s “fifth freedom” — the free movement of knowledge, research and innovation across the EU.
